Dr. Nikolaos Lyberis, member of the Administrative Board of the Hellenic Industrial Property Academy (HIPA), is an attorney and managing partner of the Vayanos Kostopoulos Law Firm.
He specializes in commercial law, focusing on the registration and judicial protection of Greek, European and international intellectual property rights, such as patents, trademarks and designs.
He represents businesses and groups of companies both domestically and internationally before the competent courts and authorities in Greece and abroad.
He is Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Law School of the European University Cyprus (EUC), specializing in Industrial Property Law and Cypriot Trust Law, and has also served for 10 years as legal advisor (“Referent”) at the Max-Planck Institute of Hamburg, delivering expert opinions to inquiring German courts on subjects of international private law and applicable Greek economic law.
He worked as a member of legislative committees of the Ministry of Development and Investments drafting laws for the harmonization of trademarks law according to European Directives. Furthermore, he served as a member of the Administrative Board of the Greek Patent Office (OBI).
He is the author of various articles and studies on contemporary matters of intellectual property, concerning inter alia supplementary protection certificates for pharmaceutical products and plant agents, European and Greek trademarks, patents and designs, but also with respect to broader topics of commercial law, such as European and Greek banking supervision law.
