The Academy is expected to contribute, in accordance with the international experience, to the education and training of the country’s professionals in practical and theoretical matters of industrial property, the responsibility of the Industrial Property Organization (IPO).
More specifically:
- To develop a national system of education, training and certification in the field of industrial property leading to the acquisition of the Title of Patent Attorneys
- To promote the development and attunement of education and training in the field of Greek, European and international industrial property law
- To promote equal access to educational opportunities under Greek, European and international industrial property law.
- To contribute to the strengthening of Greek innovation by improving the skills of users of Greek and Community industrial property law.
- To foster initiatives aimed at cooperation between certified patent consultants and intellectual and industrial property law lawyers.
- To draw up programme agreements and, in general, to develop awareness-raising initiatives in cooperation with international organizations and higher education institutions in Greece, without prejudice to Article 48 of the Treaty. 4485/2017 (A’ 114), and abroad or other bodies aiming at the training of patent consultants, the reinforcement of research activities which may lead to the registration of industrial property titles and the enforcement of intellectual property rights.
- To carry out, in cooperation with the bodies of the previous case, research projects related to industrial property and its contribution to innovation.
